Popham Airfield Visit

This year’s Southern Area visit to the fly in at Popham airfield near Basingstoke was a great success with perfect weather for both flying and driving Classic cars. It was also good to see two exceptional 1934 12HP Armstrong Siddeleys parked next to each other in our club’s section.

Throughout the day there was a constant stream of light aircraft taking off and landing and it was really good for the general public to be able to walk not only among the hundreds of classic cars on display but also among the parked aircraft and also right up to the edge of the runway!

This event is exceptionally well organised with no problems getting into or leaving the airfield and there is plenty to eat, to do and to see including an extensive auto and aero jumble. Well worth a visit next year.
