Drive It Day Runs - South Midlands Area

"I counted them all out, and I counted most of them back..." Ian Leighton-Boyce's comments on the recent South Midlands Spring run.

8 Armstrong Siddeleys left the cafe on Kemble Aerodrome on a bright and sunny morning with a very comprehensive set of route instructions, which after about 25-30 miles should have led us to the highly secret lunch venue. Unfortunately, several cars took a wrong turning early on in the route resulting in quite a difference in the arrival times at what turned out to be a wonderful old Cotswold pub.

The route chosen was virtually all on scenic country lanes and included two fords across streams with beautiful spring scenery all around - if you could take your eyes away from the route directions and other contestants stopping to read road signs!!

Sincere thanks must go to Ian for organising such an enjoyable event ensuring that the cars were used as they were designed to be used. The picture shows 5 of the 7 cars that made it to the destination with pride of place going to Ian and Christine's Station Coupe being the latest addition to our group.
