National Weekend 2024
12th - 14th July At The Charlecote Pheasant Hotel near Stratford-on-Avon
This year’s National Weekend is set to be a rather special event. Our hotel is very
comfortable and ideally situated for access from all directions, and as you will see below,
our National Day will be a grand event so please book early to ensure you have a reserved
room.
A few rooms have been reserved for Thursday and Sunday evenings if you wish to make a
longer weekend of it, and this year we are in a hotel that can take your four-legged friends –
there is even a doggy menu with free dog biscuits.
As our National Day will be taking place within the hotel grounds on their five-acre field
(grass will be short!), we are taking the opportunity to invite members of the Alvis, Daimler
Lanchester and Bristol Owners Clubs, along with A/S owners who have joined our Facebook
page. This will make for a bigger and more diverse collection of cars for us all to enjoy. It is our intention to have a light-hearted driving competition, something we have not been able to do in recent years. If you have some ideas as to what form this might take, or if there is something in our past that you would particularly like to see brought back, please let me know. And if you would like to help out with the running on the day, better still. We will need plenty of volunteers – some roles may even involve sitting in a chair with a clipboard & pen, others may involve a stick of chalk or picking up balls. Do you have any cones we might make use of please?
The hotel is providing an assortment of filled baps around lunchtime – must be booked on the booking form. Tea and coffee will be available all day from the hotel bar and can be taken back to the rally field or you may wish to bring your own. Toilet facilities are in the adjacent conference area where our AGM will be held. But before all this fun, we will be holding our AGM on Friday afternoon where you can learn about the tremendous progress made in moving our stores to the Armstrong Siddeley Centre at Pentre.
On Saturday there will be a fun run finishing with an invitation to afternoon tea. You may wish instead to go to Gaydon Motor Museum, or the many wonders of Stratford-on-Avon, or perhaps just walk across the road and visit Charlecote Park, a National Trust property. You will still be able to meet up for afternoon tea! Slightly further afield but still within comfortable walking distance is a garden centre. Saturday evening Gala Dinner choices are as below. So here we are in the depths of winter imagining what we may wish to eat in the height of summer. Have fun and get those forms in please. We don’t want to be outnumbered by the other marques.
Bookings are open! The form is ready and the spreadsheet is waiting to be populated.
